Argus PVS-31 [BNVD] Binocular Night Vision Goggle
Options

OVERVIEW

The PVS-31 is a high-performance binocular night vision device (BNVD) designed for professional use. It features high-resolution optics, a compact housing, and ultra-lightweight construction. The system can be equipped with Gen2+ multi-alkali cathode or Gen3 gallium arsenide cathode image intensifier tubes.

Depending on the installed tubes, the system can achieve image resolutions up to 72 lp/mm and a Figure of Merit (FOM) as high as 3000. Unlike traditional legacy systems, the PVS-31 utilizes quick-disassembly lenses, allowing users to field-strip the lenses and tubes for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.

Thanks to its optimized structure and patented materials, the PVS-31 weighs less than 450g (including tubes, excluding battery). Combining high image quality, extremely low weight, and a robust build, the PVS-31 enables users to train and operate efficiently under complex scenarios and harsh environments. It significantly enhances situational awareness and combat effectiveness, making it ideal for special operations forces.

HOW TO OPERATE

  1. Flip-Up Power Off
When the device is mounted on a helmet or head mount, it automatically powers off once fully flipped up above the head. When flipped down, it powers on automatically. The device only turns off when the flipping angle exceeds the predefined threshold, so simply raising the head does not deactivate it.
  2. Dormancy Mode
The built-in gravity sensor continuously monitors the device’s position. If the device remains motionless for more than 100 seconds, it automatically enters dormancy mode to save power and protect the tube from prolonged exposure damage. It wakes up automatically when movement is detected.
  3. IR Flood Light
After powering on, press the power button twice. The red LED on the right pod will flash twice, and the LED on the left pod will remain steady, indicating that the IR flood light is on. Press the button twice again to turn off both the IR light and the indicator LEDs.
  4. Manual Gain Control
After installing compatible 37mm manual gain tubes (e.g., Photonis or NNVT three-pin tubes, U.S. MX-11769 tubes, or tubes with flying wires) as per the installation manual, the user can rotate the power switch clockwise or counterclockwise to manually adjust the intensifier’s gain.
